They are just not full looking, it looks as if the stem length between the leaves is too long. The color isn't great either. I have them in a west facing window. I don't under or over water them. They are potted in Sta-Green container mix with fertilizer (too much potassium, maybe?). It's not that they've been dropping leaves, it's like there just never were enough leaves. I started two new ones from cuttings hoping they would be better but they look the same. They are big plants but I want them to look more full. Any suggestions?

Wandering Jews tend to get very spindly looking as they get older (natural occurence). You need to prune them "ruthlessly" in the fall to early winter. This will encourage new growth and make them more bushier and thicker. Pruning in this manner will not harm them. You can take some of the clippings and root them in soil to start new plants if you desire. They also like medium to full sun especially in winter when the light level is lower. You can also fertilize on a monthly basis for good health. Hope this answers your question.

"length between the leaves is too long." Is called "leggy". The plant is reaching for more light.

Whack it back, root the cuttings in water (strip off bottom leaves so they don't rot in the water) and move the plant to a South window. West window = late afternoon sun. Your W Jew wants all day sun to keep it compact and full.
