Unless these people are under the age of 6 then I would point it out to them when they do it... if nothing else they will realize it bugs you and not doing when you are around.
I am sure they think it is cute - but It bugs me as well

This is the new (old) hip talk. People are not really that ignorant, because if half the folks spoke that way on a job interview, or dressed in weird outfits, baggy pants, off the wall hairstyles, they would never gain employment.
It's just a new social norm that is really super old. Just look at the way folks talked in the roaring 20's, or the gangster style
talk back then. it's just young people imitating what they think is cool or hip now! The young people that are going to be our next senators,magistrates,physicians, scientist, will
eventually start talking our more boring mundane way (smile)!
