My family always got real trees, they still do but I moved out 3 years ago, and I must say, a real tree does smell very good. Other than that, fake trees save money, they're easier, not nearly as heavy, I've had the same fake one since I moved out. Maybe I'll get a real one, later in life. But as far as I can see, fake is just easier.
