You know everytime i get some nice perfume, some idiot always comes along asking which brand it is and so on.... then i cannot enjoy having my own personal fragrance when there are other people smelling the same way i do....ARrrrghhh! Isnt that so annoying esp when you've spent quite a lot on it ?

You should be flattered that others think you smell so good but can understand how you might want to have a "signature scent". Just tell them that it doesnt have a name but is a personal blend that you have made by a small perfume company. They will be impressed and will leave you alone.

I understand why it may be annoying, but it's still a compliment, so try to take it accordingly. Some people think asking you what it is, is just a way of complimenting you. Just because they ask doesn't mean they're gonna go out and buy it!

I guess you are right, but surely is it not rather a compliment?
Some perfumes smell differently on each of us, I believe its due to the chemicals on our skin. And I have smelt some perfumes on some people that are gorgeous and smelt nothing like that on me, and alternatively, I have some that seems to suit me, and people have remarked that they have it and it smelt differently on them !?!?

I usually tell them that I got it as a 'free sample' gift when I bought something from any cosmetics company, and that I haven't bothered to read the name as it isn't my favourite fragrance!!

You could tell them (I'M A MALE JUST GIVING ADVICE AND I'VE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE WITH COLOGNE, NOT PERFUME!!!) you spend for the best, or if you don't want to sound snobby just let a white lie slip.
