What does "DeFrag" mean?

Any program you don't use any longer that can be uninstalled, will help the computer. Everything that takes up room on the hard disk, requires that disk to search through it to find what you ask it to find. Removing old programs, especially games that can use a lot of space, then defragging the hard disk, should help its performance a lot.

Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall everything you see that you don't want. Then close the Control Panel and restart the computer for the change to take effect. Then, if you use Windows, you can get a really fast, neat defragger at Auslogics, which will defrag your hard disk in 1/2 the time of the Windows defragger.

It depends on how many you have and how much space they are taking up. if it is a significant amount remove them then run the disk defrag (which if you aren't familiar basicly moves all your files closer together making them easier to access not to mention faster). You can find the disk defrag in your accessories/system tools.

Games take up a LOT of space so it would really be worth uninstalling any unused games! After you remove them maybe you should defragment your computer to help speed things up a bit more. ;)

I strongly recommend removing unused programs. Speed may increase but only if the program is always running in the background. If it does not run in background, removal will not speed up the pc. The degree of speed up is hard to predect as it depends upon the demand the game places on the pc.

It's probably your RAM, 128mb seems incredibly low! You could either upgrade it or get a new computer! If you only want to play games like those you mentioned, you wont need to buy anything too expensive! Cheers!

Yes, its worth it.
Go to system restore and create a safe point before you uninstall the games.

As far as how fast?
That depends on how many games and how much space is on your hard drive(S), but generally enough to notice faster boot times and access to programs files etc.

if they take up a lot of hard drive it may make your comtuer faster. after you remove them all you need to run the checkdisk and the defragmentation tools to reclaim the drive space.

Unless your hard drive is at least 90% full, removing "stuff" will not improve a computers speed appreciably. Basically those old games are just dead storage.
