Because somebody answered that question thousands of years ago, humans were able to venture out of their caves explore and colonized the planet.

Because of our desire to know more we will some day visit other stars.

If early explorers had this attitude of complacency, America would have remained undiscovered, Darwin would never have gone to Galapagos and Everest would have remained unconquered.

This quote came from the website below. 20 odd years ago we were going through a cold war and countries were amassing nuclear weapons. The cooperation of countries now on the Cassini project, International Space Station and the Large Hadron Collider is truly how united the nations should be.

Go onto youtube and find some of Carl Sagan's videos, research Ann Druyan, Neil deGrasse Tyson talking passionately about their jobs. You too may be inspired to learn more about our fascinating universe.
