This is a known problem with certain versions of Limewire, even with the firewall turned off. I cured it by uninstalling Limewire and installing version 4.14.10

properly..i wish you're using abode windows XP. a million. visit start -> administration Panel -> and double-click "abode windows Firewall" 2. click "Exception" tab 3. make confident that "Limewire" is indexed there. If its no longer then pass to No.4. whether it is indexed there pass to No.6 4. click "upload application" button and skim the LimeWire itemizing (often application FilesLimeWire) and choose the .exe(LimeWire.exe). 5. click "ok" then, Limewire would be indexed there. 6. make confident that the LimeWire container (on the left) is checked. 7. Then click "ok". Thats it. it would be working now. wish I responded your question. Enjoyzzz
