Right now most searches are done on Google, then Yahoo, then MSN. The numbers are always a little bit different, depending on your source, but Google generally has about 40-50% of the search volume.

I don't know if you can say which search engine is "best", but you can try them all and determine for yourself which you feel the most comfortable using.

One argument for Google, however, is that they are acquiring so many other sites such as YouTube, and they've build some major tools such as GoogleMaps. This means that Google is using a lot of different kinds of data to help find the best sites for you. I also think that as a result their search engine WILL be far superior to the others, but that is only speculation :-).

I would stick to Google or Yahoo as a recommendation - see which you like best.

The question should not be what is the "best" search engine, but rather the question should be "what is the most popular." According to a recent survey provided by WebProNews, here are their rankings:

1. Google
2. Yahoo
3. MSN

Good luck!
