I got a CD as a present, but i already have that CD, so if I want to return it back to the store without the receipt, but it is in perfectly wrapped condition and i haven't even opened it, could i still do that, or do I only get reward points for that store instead of cash.

You can usually exchange an unopened CD for a different one of the same price, try a larger store like Target or Walmart . Make sure its not a cd from a music club like BMG, it will say on the back of the case if it is. Also I swap out my Cd's for cash or credits at FYE stores, check out if they have any near you at www.fye.com.

Good Luck!

You need to check with the store it was purchased from. Policies vary from company to company. With the hustle and bustle of Christmas I'd call first so you don't have to stand in long lines only to find out they won't take it back.

without the reciept you might be able to get store credit .but no cash. that has been my experience in the past. however best bet is to go to walmart and ask.

probably not because to many people can copy the disk now a days. they usually would exchange it for the exact same item if the first disk does not work for some reason... Sorry
