Check the pilot light, it's unusual but I have had mine go out. if that't not it, then I would call the repair guy!

I have an electric dryer, but when it doesn't get hot, my husband usually fixes it, he usually says the heating element is the problem, it gets a break in it, and he repairs the break and it goes back to working.

It might also be a problem with the timer, possibly someone else used it and changed your settings

Check on the timer as said above, check your lint catcher, and check your gas hose going to the dryer.
I've never used a gas dryer before.
