Well, I will spend Christmas eve in front of the boob tube! lol - arise Christmas morning and call my kids as I usually do and talk to my grands to see what Mommy, Daddy and Santa brought them.

Then I will prepare to take the trip to go fetch my Mom from assisted living and drive to my ex's home where the entire family gathers. We will all help him decorate his live tree, and open the gifts we each brought for the kiddies and the one we got for the adult whose name we drew. Then we'll eat! LOL

I have my mom, 3 grown children, 4 grandchildren, a daughter in law and an ex to celebrate with.

My kitty, Tony, will receive his Christmas when I get home, as family members buy him new toys! LOL

I will get up early Christmas morning and make fresh cinnamon rolls, and we will have a quiet breakfast before the house starts filling up with family and friends. About 10 am I will put on the roast, and prepare what little cooking I still have to do, having made deviled eggs and everything else I could the day before. I'll put on Christmas music, light candles, make sure the tree lights are turned on, About 11:30, people will start arriving, get the tables set and dishes out for the food so all I have to do is fill them. Then I will relax and enjoy the company until about 12:30, when the food needs to be dished up, gravy made and hardbread goes into the oven, because it is best fresh and hot.

Watching the Christmas parade on TV is in there somewhere.

After we eat, and the dishes are done, we will open presents. Then we will just sit around being full and talk, maybe play a game or two, then later in the afternoon when most of the guests have gone home, those who are left and want to, will go to a movie. Haven't decided yet this year, National Treasure or the Golden Compass. Never see a serious movie on Christmas, it has to be a fun adventure.

Just a nice, low-stress day. Even the meal is low stress, I have done it for so many years I have it down to a fine art. And this year, I have a new kitchen range to cook the meal on, YAHOO!

We think it will be a white Christmas, which is not really common where I live, so that's exciting. Funny you mention the pets--we did get some special dog cookies for the freeloaders. We'll have rare roast beef and yorkshire pudding. My spouse is leaning toward a bread pudding for dessert with some type of hard sauce instead of pies. We have a truly lovely little Christmas tree this year---about 5 1/2 feet tall. Our Christmas dinner will be shared with some dear friends--none of whom are Christians so they're really excited about it. We have a Jewish couple and their two young adult children and a Sufi woman and her young adult son coming for dinner. Presents are no big deal--I got my wife a white wool shawl, a painting she wanted and some luster ware from an antique shop she's been craving. Also some good champagne for just her and some wine she loves. I already know I'm getting a really nice suit that I needed. We'll probably play cards after dinner and send everyone home with candy and left-overs.

We'll probably do more or less what we do any other day of the year lol......watch tv, go on laptop, eat stuff that's not good for us, take the dog for a walk if the weather is ok or if we can get her out the door coz she is one helluva lazy pup and hates walks lol. Our daughter will open the prezzies we've bought her and we'll probably spend a couple of hours downloading music onto the new MP3 player we've got her. If we remember to take the joint of topside beef out of the freezer the day before Christmas day we'll be having roast beef, yorkshire puds veg and roast potatoes and gravy. for pud we'll be having strawberry gateau or something along those lines and we'll probably eat far too much chocolate too.
Christmas was so much different when the kids were small and it was all magical and special.

Christmas day will be just another day. We have the big family celebration on Christmas Eve. This year will be a bittersweet time though. My dad's health is rapidly declining and this will be the last Christmas we will have him here. We will be having our traditional dinner, no gifts this year, then just playing some games, having a few drinks, and spending time with each other.

I will celebrate the Glory of the day, the true meaning behind Christmas. I will count all my blessings and be home with my pets, make the ham, sweet potatoes. vegetables and just remember why this day happens. I love to see the joy in the eyes of the children and remember the miracle of this one child's birth, how the world changed.......so very long ago. Tradition and Joy!

Christmas day will be spent with friends, maybe snowboarding. The big family get together is this week-end. There will be a big feast, lots of kids, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandma & grandpas. It will be the 1st time in several years I'll have all my kids and grandkids together. My husband will dress up like Santa and hand out gifts to the kids. There's 5 of them and they're all younger than 4. I can't wait.

Feed all the outside pets and two horses...give them their Christmas stockings. Let out and feed the chickens and have a fresh egg for breakfast. Later, my kids and grand kids who went forth and multiplied, will be here ...so I get to know the new crop of babies(wife loves that bit)...open all the presents. This year one older son has bought a Wii (?) then later its cards and games. I might just quietly slip off to sleep in my chair given half a chance.,

Our family has recently lost our Granny, in the last two months. We always gather at her home at Christmas. She leaves behind her husband and about 35 to 40 relatives.
Christmas we will gather as usual. Granny will surely be missed. We all realize the pain she was in.
I will be cooking for approximately 35 to 40 people.
I'm resting up

We siblings usually gather together for dinner. Those from afar are expected to call to greet everyone else. And the pets, 5 large dogs to be exact, will have a sumptuous dinner as well.
