If by the economy you mean gas prices and decline in the housing market. As for jobs, indicators, they show a decline only because there are less workers collecting unemployment, many because they are no longer eligible for benefits. Don't be so smug.

Gee, the Republicans allowed all of this subprime rate garbage to go on to build new houses, that propped up the economy, now there is a bailout. The dollar is geting devalued, but that is not translating to more exports. Neither party does enough to protect heavy industry in this country.

Whoever gets elected in 2009 has a daunting task of softening the economic downturn coming. One top solution will be universal healthcare, as this will add jobs and force a more equitable tax system that the super rich have exploited for the last 25 years. Another would be major infrastructure reconstruction programs, reparining the aged and worn thngs like bridges, roads, sewers ect. Things that help people and add more jobs per $.

Perhaps in your fantasy world, but in the real one, the economy is in the dumper, there is no sense to the interest rate disparities, as in @ 6% for a mortgage, O% for a car, and 18 to 29% for credit card. People are losing their homes and the security of their once very secure jobs.

Did you get this from your psychic or your psychiatrist?

"W" took a country from black ink DEEP into red ink in a couple of years; jobs are flying out of the country DAILY;unemployment figures are based on non-telling stats (i.e. minimum wage-BELOW poverty level jobs are counted.)

By the way, his isn't a team sport, Bubba. It ain't Dems vs. Pubs or cons vs libs. It's right vs wrong and the career politicians are WRONG to be holding down the population in the name of greed and power, no matter what party they subscribe to...PERIOD!
