Why am I still looking at pictures of her in newspapers 10 years after she died? Why can't people let it go and let her rest in peace? I hate the fact people are still profiting from a woman who lost her life in the spot light, with pictures of her untimely death posted all over the press. Leave it alone, let her rest.

That will only happen when she is replaced, or perhaps when an entire generation has grown up who have no memory of her.

The formal process of sainthood involves a complicated process taking time, money, testimonies, and miracles, and the church follows a strict set of rules in the process. Once the applicant is approved as a candidate, an appointed postulator interviews those who knew the individual. Personal testimonies, letters, and writings of the candidate's are put together. A relater then sifts through this information and prepares a position paper. If the volumes of evidence prove a life of "heroic virtue", the person is given the title "venerable" by the Pope. The next title, beatified (blessed), is attained if it can be proven that a miracle occurred after the death of the candidate, the result of someone praying to that person for help. To finalize a canonization, it must be established that a second miracle occurred. (Martyrs are the exception. The pope can reduce their miracle requirement to one or waive it altogether.) Most often prayer requests are for a physical healing. Verifying a miracle is considered the most difficult hurdle in the process. Just deciding what constitutes one causes debate. A life of heroic virtue is obviously easier to establish than a healing that results from prayers. At this point, Diana has met only one qualification, that being that it has been at least 5 years since her death. I agree that Diana was an exceptional woman who left this world much too soon. Whether she will ever be considered for sainthood is probably a stretch.

It's all the fault of millions of celebrity/royal obsessed saddo's. When a newspaper or trashy magazine has a picture of Diana on the front page then the sales of that publication go up massively. If everyone stopped buying this tat then they'd put someone else's mug on the front Like Jordan and peter Andre...then they can tell you 'what a normal couple they are' and how many times they change nappies and stuff.

Banal crap like this sells millions of copies because most of the population are so sad, this is the only stuff they're interested in.

She spent her life courting publicity, ringing up newspapers, posing for photos whilst pretending she was unaware - she would be loving the coverage. The only people who should be interested are her family. The rest are ghouls or very sad cases who believed the 'spin'.

Remembering is one thing, your right, but if all the press and media want to do is keep digging up dirt on her, then I say to hell with them. She was an extraordinary woman who did so much for this world. I think that's why people still talk about her. But, she is at rest hon.... not to worry.

Just honour and remember her in time.
Her loss in time exposed the "Candle in the wind" for the good of mankind.
On what went wrong out there.
To save the little ones in time.
Luke 8.16 - 17
Luke 11. 33- 36
What do you think?
Merry X'mas!

I agree. It's mostly because of a media obsession with certain celebrities, of which Diana was one. What makes this especially sad is how Diana and Dodi had to run from the Papparazzi the night they were killed -- the very obsession of which I speak is exactly what killed them. :-(

This woman was a disgrace and should be left alone, her poor sons do not want all her sordid lifestyle details to be splashed over the papers

Would you let it go if your son was killed in an "accident"?, no you would want a proper inquest, and that is what Dodis father wants too. The Royal Family could not have a Muslim stepfather for their future King so to me its very suspicious.

I cannot understand this latest inquest or whatever it is. 10 years too late. or is that the idea. The public would forget!

That just shows the rest of us what the hell is running this country. Tossers complete Tossers.
