that was a beautiful piece and i think that you played it very well, i loved it but my question for you is why do you need somebody elses opinion, if you liked it then yours is the only opinion that matters

Very nice.

Just three criticisms:

1. The rhythm is a little ragged at times.
2. A little too much pedal at times.
3. The instrument needs tuning.

By the way, that piece sounds stylistically like a piece played on another video, and which Jose G wants identified.
Could you check the other pieces in your Heller book for something in the key of e minor, in a compound meter, and which starts something like:

E E | B B | E E | G G | C C | B B | F# G | F#

1) You need to practice with a metronome. It does not sound as if the rubato in the central section is intended to be slowed the way it is.
2) That piano needs a tuning. Desperately. The D, Eb, E, and F# are hopelessly gone at this time. And there are more in the lower register.
3) As a performer, take off your wristwatch. It both slows you down, and distracts the observer.
4) You need to practice 2 hand chromatic scales until you can't any more. The fact that you slow them down is going to keep your progress limited.
The piece is excellent, compositionally. The player needs the above to improve.

Not bad. Congruent interpretation. Consistently appropriate tempos. Fairly good application of the sostenuto pedal, except at the end.

Must you wear a watch, or is that just a shadow? My really only negative comment is about the condition of your piano. You either need a new, really good quality piano; or the one you have needs a good tuning in the worst way. But again, you do have talent, and seem to be very dedicated. So keep at it.

Can't give you a standing ovation, but certainly a respectfully extended applause.

Do you want opinion on your playing, the piece or both? Personally I think you need much more emotion in your playing. It's an ok piece...what is it for? The middle section where you used the sustain pedal more was better, blended the sounds rather than being very disjointed and chunky. You need more undulation and rising and falling phrasing in there. Hope you don't think i'm ripping you, just want to help.

It seems quite good but I am not a pianist so I will wait for others to give you a professional opinion.
