It is a felony to knowingly misdirect the mail, contact the US attorney and tell the mail carrier to either get the package or face a civil suit, felony mail theft charges. Drop a note saying the same to the people who got the package. Get a lawyer and sue plus get the cops involved.

You can take it to the fereral government. They control the US Post Office. If you even do not get the toy back, i believe you should be in favor of the money you spent for it. They lost your package in the mail, even if it is only a few houses down. You never recieved the package you ordered, so therefore your entitled to recieveing either the same toy, or the money spent on it. I do not have a source to prove all of my opinions true, but I know from History Class that the US Postal Serivce is controled by the main government, and you did not get your mail ordered so they have not done their job. I would contact head, of your post office in the town, then i would take it to the state if they do not do anything about it. Be strict, and don't back down. Tell them you mean business.
I really hope it all works out!

By delivering to an address other than what was on the parcel, the carrier committed a big rule blunder. She could, and rightfully so, get into big trouble. Go into the post office and explain to the post master what happened and that you want to file a complaint, or at least get your package back.

Call the postmaster in your local town. It is a federal offense to knowingly steal someone's mail. The postal worker should have delivered the package to the address shown. If the postal worker knowingly gave the package to the wrong address they are just as liable as the stealing party. The postal worker would also be subject to disciplinary action.

First of all, your mail carrier broke the law. But that isn't going to help your grandson.
If you can't get in touch with the neighbors - if they are away for the holidays - you might not be albe to get it until after Christmas. you obviously can't just tell your grandson to wait - He's only six.
You could buy another present for your grandson and when you get the present from your neighbor, return it.
If it costs you more you should ask your stupid mail carrier to pay the difference.

well, maybe you should take matters into your own hands and go to their house, and tell them that the gift was really supposed to go to your grandson, aj, hence the tag that said "to AJ" and that the mail lady decided she would change the rules of the post office by personal belief about a person, which really wasn't a good move for her, because by doing that she could most likely get in trouble with work, and the law, so she would lose her job, and could go to jail.

Call KB Toys and say you didn't get the package AND call your credit card company and have it charged back.
They can do this because you never received the item. They say 60 days from the date you were billed, but really have 180 days....so do it right now.
Then reorder something else and have it shipped UPS or FEDEX.
The Postmaster should also take your complaint...the "mail lady" is nuts! She could be arbitrarily doing this to other people.

Report it to the Post Office. In this case they are responsible for the package, and the neighbor, in some cases, can be held liable for the package, if they kept it, knowing it was for another address.

Contact the press, that is illegal. If the postmaster won't do anything, I bet the press would love to sink their teeth into it. Especially FOX.
I hope this gets resolved for your little girl.
Please post the end result and I really do care about this getting fixed.
