Im not so sure about 'gaining' weight but I know the Bridget Jones movies feature a chubbier, more normal woman dealing with normal things such as weight, relationships, etc.
Thier highly rated films and very funny, maybe you may find what your looking for in them.

In Shallow Hal the guy (Hal) sees his girlfriend (Rosemary) as a really thin, attractive woman because he's been hypnotised, but really she is very very overweight. This is good, because he still likes her when he finds out, but for a lot of the film the jokes are poking fun at the overweight, it's kind or insensitive. It's funny though.

theres enough stigma in real life if you dont conform to type without watching movies about it forget it you are what you are be boring world if we were all the same better to be fat and happy then skinny and miserable have a good xmas

also crapola!! i jsut forgot the name of it but lifetime had it on.. about a thin beautiful girl doing a exam on obese women and the attraction they get when faced with everyday life.. she puts on a heavy suit and goes to parties,..school etc.. there are some good ones out there.. dang dang it i forgot the name of it.. and its agood one..
