No. It is a radio receiver. It picks up tiny signals originating from the satellite. It does not give off energy that would interfere with radar detectors.

I don't know about that, but I do know that my XM radio goes out whenever I pass near a cop. So I use my radio as a psudo radar detector.

NO... but your microwave oven CAN interfer with your XM or Sirius receiver and even with the DirectTV and DishTV signals.
