When I used to go to the footy back in Melbourne I tried to eat before I went,(so expensive) and have a few at the Cricketers Arms hotel, but if I had to buy then it would be a pie and beer.

I always get a pie, and I was a beer man till I started going to Subiaco......do you know that you can only buy light or midstrength beer there, but you can get cans of Beam & Coke too, at the same bars. So I'm a pie n Jimmy man at Subi, Forky.

I've been known to "crack a tinny" at a footy match!

And what can beat a good old Aussie meat pie while watching the game?

When I return from being overseas, from time to time, one of the first things I grab is a good old pie (I miss a pie, along with Mum's roasts & decent fish n chips).

Hot dog AND/OR pie and beer thanks.
But MY footy s the real footy - you know... the one they played across the border in New South Wales.

(hehe - just can't resist have a dig at the difference in codes, mate)

Hey Forky, I always get a burger and fries from Hungry Jacks before the game and sometimes a BBQ brunch. But during the game, its a hotdog with cheese and sauce and a couple of beers to sooth the throat.

Those new traveller meat pies - they are the long ones and sooo much easier to eat. No more burnt chin from the hot insides!

I BYO drinks coz I refused to be ripped off!

gfcbarracker: I'd luv to send you some 4 n 20's - would go down a treat in that freezing cold weather you're having!

Meat pie & a beer.

They go with football (along with Holden cars) doesn't the song say so?

The meat pies may sometimes be a bit of a mystery bag - but jeez, those burgers they sell at the kiosks (for which they charge an arm & a leg) are sometimes more of a mystery to me.

Pie and a bottle of water.

Wish we had pies in the USA, hot dogs are brutal.

Anybody know where to find a four and twenty in the USA?
