My son is over there right now and I'm having a very hard time getting into my regular holiday spirit. I hope that everyone that is in this same situation has a Merry Christmas and know that you are in my prayers.

You could volunteer at a homeless shelter, animal shelter, or toy drive. Giving to others is sure fire way to increase your holiday spirit and feel good in this season of giving.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

I spent a few years overseas while in the military. The units all over do their best to have some special events around that day. Remember, it probably won't be as bad for the soldiers as it is for their loved ones back home.

have a get together with friends and family and make a big box of stuff for him and ship it to him. That way you want be alone and you will be doing something for him. He would love it that you put time and effort in it for him. Make a photo album for him with all the family in it.
