I have heard that more women give birth during a full moon- is there any truth in this? It would be interesting to hear from a labour and delivery nurse. And when is the full moon this month- I think it is the 23rd?

LORD I hope so!!!! The next full moon is tomorrow night and I really hope there is some truth behind it. I looked it up on line and it says something about the gravity giving a pull and effecting the waters. In pregnant womens case, it says the gravity of the full moon night makes the water break. WELL COME ON GRAVITY!!! I AM READY!!!!! Congratulations and Merry Christmas!!

When I asked them, the nurses in labor & delivery at the Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL have attested to the truth of the idea that birth rates increase when there is a full moon. They said there is, in fact, a sharp increase in births. I think it has to do with increased activity (walking, sex, etc.) on evenings when the moon is full and the sky is more luminous, but that's just a shot in the dark.

There's a superstition that goes around in my family that when the moon looks like it's spilling over ( crescent, and it looks like the light "spills" over ) then birth is on it's way. That one is like two for two for me lol I've also heard the full moon thing, and there have been studies to prove it to be fairly accurate.

To the poster that said there's no studies avaliable about this...need to get off of here and get on google. Every superstition there's a study about it.

I was sitting in a breastfeeding class during a full moon and 4 of us were having contractions.

Turned out to be Braxton Hiks for me - and she waited a whole month to come, but I believe there's some truth to it. Have some sex around dinner time and go for a walk!

i discover this soooo thrilling. My daughters due date replaced into the day of the entire moon and she or he replaced into born presently after. i replaced into born on an entire moon and so replaced into my husband. I even appeared up my theory dates to work out if it replaced into for the duration of an entire moon, yep! Wow!!! We had the entire moon the day merely before this and we are TTC so i desire we've an analogous luck. There must be something to it. all of the different animals in the worldwide are effected by potential of the moons cycles, it merely is clever that human beings could be effected besides. solid luck to you! little ones are this style of miracle.
