By stopping or reversing Global Warming. They live, or rather, hunt, on the ice sheets in the arctic, and those are disappearing quickly. It's a simple question of habitat loss...which is usually the reason for any animal population decline.

Actually doing something about it will be extremely difficult if the whole world doesn't cooperate about the way we collectively live on this planet. It's possible, though.

They are not in imminent danger, but will be if we don't reverse course.

Their populations have declined about 25% in the past 25 years.

BY STOPPING POCHING AND LOSE OF FOOD.

you will not like the answer so don't bother reading.

Globle warming has nothing to do with it. its called climen change and has happened for many years. what do you think the people in the ice age thought when all the ice disapeared? thats globle warming but now it's just clamet change. the only man made problems are the hole in the ozone and pulution which are SLOWLY but still being reverced. new and other bies grups want money so they say "donate to save the poler bears and they show you a video of some cut cubs ect. but they don't show you the video of them killing each other and seals and other animals do they. yes they have to kill for food but people don't seem to realize that. you can just hit the bad rating and never have to read this again but there is still the truth. if globle warming is as bad as people say it is then WHY IS THERE STILL ICE?! why do I have to put a winter coat on just to walk from my house to my shed when I live in Virginia!? because globle warming does not exsist. there was only one warm winter in 2004 that lots of ice did not come back and yes many polar bears died but it has not happend seince has it? they will only show you fottage of that year and they will lie about the year but if you truly look closer you can find what I mean. show me recent footage and I'll change my mind. don't your emotions get the better of you. the truth is that polar bewars are being illagely killed by hunters to sell the fur for millions. (I mean thousends not millions)

I support the answer from "Cat". I really don't understand how people think that Global Warming doesn't exist.

We are slowly killing humanity, animal life, and the environment around us, and yes, there are many things we can do to start to reverse the process.

It's probably too late. The only real way to save some of the current environment of the earth is to reduce human population by about 90% but no one can even talk about that and be listened to.

Like Vera, I agree with Cat, and he/she has the information to prove it. It is a tragedy what is going on in this world. And the thing is, we could do something to reverse this.
