After reading all the answers and seeing as how no one living today was there, it seem the general consensus is confusion. In logic, human nature always plays a part in history. We only know about this part of history because it was written the way that the people back then who were controling the situation wanted it to be understood by the masses. This particular method is still used to control the flow on information today.

Let's look at what is real in human nature. Back then could a life have created without having sex? We seem to all agree that Jesus was a man and Mary was a woman. If they were together back then it makes sense that it would have had to have been undercover because of the times. And, it would have had to stay undercover for fear of life if the story is true. If there was any information on Jesus' or Mary's life at that time which would was contrary to what was going to be the "given public account", do you think that it would have been included? Yes, there were a lot of phophets back then who had stories or truths to tell just like today there are many who keep to the truth or bend it into what they think we will accept, and we are left here now trying to decipher between what is truth and what is not. We have been fortunate in a since that some information has been uncovered that disputes what was written back then so we can take another look at it and try to find out what actually happened. Mother Earth and Father time so to speak, will reveal all their secrets someday.

What you have to ask yourself is are we ready as a human race to see the truth no matter what it is or disregard it because its not what we want to hear. I believe that all the talk about this is good. I also believe that man's human nature would have played a primary roll is what was told and what was not told or better yet, documented. It gives us a chance to really take another look at what was written, omitted or over blown.

Have we grown and learned any life lessons from what Jesus and his followers were trying to do or do we just go on with our lives doing and loving whatever makes us happy.

We now can trace blood lines. Some as far back as Africa. Let's challenge ourselves to find the truth no matter what it is and rejoice in that.

One more thing, when I think of a god I see a supernatural, ultra entity that does not have base human emotions like vengence, anger, love, jealousy, compassion and so on. Maybe just maybe, man/we/us created gods to help us get throuth it all, MAYBE?

Maybe. Use some common sense. Why is it so radical to wrap the mind around the fact that Jesus may have had a female partner/wife/girlfriend and children? What do you think he was doing during the lost years? Of course he had sex, and a good chance a child came out of it at some point in his short life. If it was before he was the 'famous' Jesus, then those mothers wouldn't have known to speak up and have it recorded in history. If it was with Maddalena-don't you think she would have wanted to keep the child quiet? If Jesus was killed, so might their child have been killed by the Romans to keep a heir from taking his place. As far as the "facts" of the Bible, realize that the Bible has been edited over and over to suit the people in power. Omitting a female or females in powerful positions was de rigular for political/religious reasons. History gets diluted down over time and the fact that Magdalena is even mentioned at all means she had to be very, very important to Jesus.

No, they were not a couple and did not have children. No, there is not a biological bloodline of Jesus Christ in the 21st century.
If you want the truth, read the Bible starting with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, then the rest of the New Testament, then the Old Testament, and to see how God's intricate plan unfolds: Jesus Christ came as God's only Son to save us from our sins. His coming and the surrounding details were predicted centuries before. His love for us far surpasses any love on the human level.
If you need an "outside" source regarding Jesus Christ, read Josephus who was a reliable historian from the time and whose writings support the truth of the Bible regarding this.
Current fiction and fantasy such as the DaVinci Code is serving only to sidetrack and confuse the truth, and actually has its base in ancient cults.

I believe that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married because of the following:- under Judaic Law it was illegal for a woman to have her hair unbound in front of a man, other than her husband and yet Mary Magdalene wiped Jesus' feet with her own unbound hair. Anointing for burial was also only done by a family member or spouse and Mary also did this and although the other disciples were witness to this intimate act, the only complaints made were in regards to the cost of the Nard which was used for the purpose. In the Bible it repeatedly states that 'Mary kissed Jesus upon the mouth often' - again, this would have been unheard of outside of marriage. Mary Magdalene was present at the Anointing, Crucifixion and also at the Resurrection - her name appears even before that of Mother Mary. Jesus and Mary were definitely married and some believe that Mary was with child when Jesus was crucified.

An interesting question, and really it is a matter of interpretation. If you take the Bible verbatum (as written, the one and only truth) then as for the blood line part, Jesus was celebate, so no they would not have had children as Jesus is the only Virgin Birth. However, there would still be a blood line to Him. In my studies I have found that Jesus had several siblings, ironically enough one brother was actually named Judas, but that is a whole nother issue. As for the "In love with her"... Is the Bible THE TRUTH or is it the word of men? Stories are blown way out of proportion through time. Did Jesus really feed the masses with 5 loaves and 2 fish, or did he share with the less fortunate around him, and somebody over-exagerated the story? I believe that the bible is a collection of stories, and fables from some very loyal people. The one thing that I have always remembered is that the Bible was written by men and not God, and as such, it is not the WORD of God, but rather the TEACHINGS of God, but that is only me. Safe and Happy Holidays to all.

There are some odd bits of illogic here. One was that if Jesus was in favor of marriage, he would have been married himself; i.e., practiced what he preached. Many people who wholly support marriage are not married and remain celibate. Another is that he was a normal man and would have wanted to be married, so therefore, he was. That also does not hold up for many people. If we believe what the Bible says about who Jesus was (and is), his purpose for being here was to preach the Gospel and to give his life for our sins. He came as God in the flesh. To be married and have children would have compromised his purpose here, and would have been a great disservice to that woman and the children. To say, as someone did, that he knew what he would have to go through and wanted the comfort of a family is absurd. He knew exactly what he would go through and would not have married, only to give her incredible misery and leave her and children behind. The whole Mary Magdalene myth is a huge medieval construction based on Gnostic writings. Gnosticism during the early Christian times had various forms, but it could not reconcile Jesus being human and divine at the same time. They, therefore, would alternately make Jesus a divine and not physical being, or make him completely human. The confusion with Mary Magdalene and the woman taken in adultery and the penitent woman who washed Jesus' feet fit in, for them, with an interpretation of Jesus's totally human nature. Therefore, the church began to isolate Mary Magdalene from Jesus and identify her as a reformed prostitute.

There is no valid historic evidence that Mari Magdalen had any children with Jesus.
A German DNA investigation was made on the remains of a representative queen of the Merovingian dynasty and there was not the slightest trace of Semitic DNA on her blood. As you may recall Dan Brown affirms that the Merovingian dynasty comes down from Jesus and Mari Magdalen´s children.

This is hard scientific evidence.
So lets be real, the "Da Vinci Code" is, as the German scientist who made the investigation said, about the novel :
"it´s a good story".

No one will no for sure until God tells us in heaven, or so I believe. If Christ was married why would they not have put it in the bible, they did write on how Jesus was baptised by John the baptist, Matrimony, should show the same that Jesus humbled himself to show us the right way, that is what he came for. But, regardless if He did get married and had children, He would have had a relationship like God wanted. And there is nothing wrong with that

I think that it was very reasonable to expect that Jesus, the man, had feelings and needs of every man. It also would be unnatural for a man of his time not be married. If you allow yourself a mind that is open enough to accept that there were gospels written that were not included in the bible, when refined in the third century, then you have to accept that there is some validity to the accounts in these texts. The reality is that with texts we have now, we do not know if Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married. The true question is if you look into your heart, and into the depths of your faith, does it really matter?

Jesus was in love with Mary Magdalene just as he loved Mary, Martha, Lazarus and many others. In the greek the word love he felt was not a sexual type of love it was more of a brotherly type of love or the same love he had for all people. There is no credible evidence anywhere that they had more of a relationship. Since that is the case there is no bloodline. Another way of looking at it would be that there is a bloodline and it flows through all believers once we accept Christ as our Savior.
