There is no harm in this at all. When you are on any kind of pill, it is not a true period anyway, just a withdrawal bleed from not taking the hormones during the 7 day break. Most women prefer that as it reassures them they are not pregnant but there is no need to have a bleed every month. Don't worry if you don't have a bleed, it is normal on the continuous pill and nothing to worry about. You can find lots more information on the fpa website (family planning association). Take care and have a merry xmas

There used to be a widespread belief (even in the medical field) that taking the pill back to back without a break was harmful... it is not, and even medical professionals are now backing this up. I have been advised by my doctor that it is perfectly healthy.
Be advised though, that there can be some side effects (i.e. continual bloating, spotting even though you are on the pill, and sometimes those dreaded PMS symptoms still rear their ugly heads). I take the pill back to back, but feel a bit better if I take a small break after about 3 months or so. Do what feels best for you.

The contraceptive pill, you mean? Some say in the long term it increases heart degeneration and could affect organ function in your body.

If you want to go against what the prescription states, TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR and get his ok!
Its ok as long as you do it SOMETIMES, not all the time.
Also, even if you skip, you may still get your period.
Get the ok from your DOCTOR.
