while driving my car my radio suddenly shut off and lights dimmed...and lost all power in car until car shut off...while trying to restart it it just clicked..whats the matter with my car?

Your charging system failed and the battery is not strong enough to run every component in the car. The battery has something called, "reserve capacity" which gives you enough time to drive the car off battery power to get somewhere so you will not be stranded. When this runs out, the car dies. This means that your alternator had stopped working a couple of days ago, but you just ran out of reserve capacity time. You're going to have to replace the battery along with another alternator.

Sounds like a charging circuit problem. Your alternator probably went out and then your battery died. Alternators aren't terribly expensive. If you are mechanically inclined, you could save big bucks by installing it yourself. Just buy a repair manual.
If you never got it started, that is most likely the problem.

Your alternator died and the battery ran out of juice.

I would have to agree with Katie, have your alternator checked. You might also check the battery while you are at it, especially the water in the battery.

probably the alternator. did the battery light come on just befoe that happened?

Could be your alternator, short in your wires, go auto zone, advance auto and they can check that for you for free.
