Yes. I bought a silver candlestick and when I polished it all the silver came off! It was 22 carat gold underneath! They ripped me off the sonsofbitches ;)

hate to be picky but i think you'll find that the clever sod that said this originally stated that "all that glisters isn't gold" . the sentiment is the same i guess, to look further than the surface. happy thinking.
