Sounds like your baby is engaging and dropping, which happens around 36 weeks ish.
Can you breathe more easily?? Normally when the baby drops, breathing becomes more comfortable, as the baby is no longer up in your ribs.
Don't worry, it's just a sign that the baby is getting his/herself ready for birth. Unfortunately it can still take weeks from now to actually happen.

this is really normal and especially so in late pregnancy. There is so much pressure pushing on your pelvic joints and ligaments that some people get this horrible pain. Try using a heat bag on the sore parts to ease it and when laying down put a thick pillow between your legs to take the pressure of the joints. Also rest a lot with your legs raised and delegate jobs to family, friends and husband!
Also if your babies head is engaged the pain could be caused by it grinding down on the pelvis so try getting on all fours with your butt in the air to encourage the baby off the pelvis for a little bit. It won't mean that he'll 'disengage' but it will definately help get the pressure of the joints.
You probably have had braxton hicks but may not have noticed them. When your belly goes rock hard from the navel down and tight that is a braxton hick. For most people it is painless, others can really feel it. It usually only lasts for 30-60 secs at a time.
If the pain in your pelvis gets stronger, comes and goes in waves and seems to stick to a pattern then call your doctor, hospital or midwife. Baby could be coming sooner than expected.
Best of luck and blessings for a quick and safe delivery.

Oh yeah...I feel your pain, and I share it too. Mostly it's due to the amount of Progesterone in your blood. What this lovely little hormone does is loosen all your joints so that the baby is able to squeeze through your pelvis. This on top of the fact that your bubble is now moving further down into your pelvis and the extra weight you've gained is all hinged on your pelvis and hips. It doesn't really mean you're going to deliver soon enough but it does mean you're in the home stretch. Since you're just 37 weeks you might have up to a whole month left!!

yeah, well it could still be weeks but it sounds like the baby is engaging in your pelvis and lining up for delivery. does it seem to you like you're carrying lower or that your stomach suddenly looks more protruding? the baby may have dropped. the pain is from the pressure he puts on your pelvis and he could be on a nerve. you may never notice braxton hicks. that's okay, since those are just for practice anyway and you could have had them since around 6 months of your pregnancy. those do not indicate labor at all. i'm 38 weeks myself with my 2nd baby and the sleep thing.... i don't have much in the way of suggestion for you. you can shove some pillows around your back and stomach to help relieve some of the pressure sleeping puts on your pelvis. you can always take tylenol and, hey, you're almost there.

Baby sounds like its low in the pelvic area .Your bones seperate a little to make room for baby and I am sure its a combo of both.
You don't always get Braxton Hicks when preg. They are usually not too painful and make your uterus feel like a rock for a minute and then it releases.

I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my first child. I could barely walk across a room because I hurt so bad! Come to find out, she was head-down but the top of her head was resting on one of my pelvic bones! Very painful, indeed! Not much you can do about it, though, sorry.

it's normal to have that kind of pain towards the end of your pregnancy. remember everything is stretching and in the last weeks your baby is growing quite a bit. I'm sure you'll be ok and have a healthy baby. Best wishes!!
