i got my membranes swept on wednesday at 2:30 pm and the babies head according to the dr is "right there" i am 2cm dilated and 100% effaced and lost my plug yesterday (not sure if all of it though) and usually the baby moves alot but yesterday it seemed like he just wouldnt stop moving, especially last night, he kept moving and everytime he would i would get a sharp pain down there or id have this really bad urge to pee but everytime i went to the bathroom, nothing, couldnt pee at all. me and the hubby did end up having sex (sorry if too much) but even through that the baby wouldnt stop moving. he NEVER moves this much, is this normal?

if you lost your plug due to a membrane sweep it doesn't guarantee going into labour. If you had lost it naturally that would mean your body is doing its thing and starting labour.
I had mine done at 39weeks and lost the plug less than a day later and still had to be induced a week later. I was 2 cm dilated and effaced but still didn't go naturally.

The baby is probably getting comfy and into his birth position. He would be engaging properly which is why you feel the need to pee all the time but nothing is there and the pain would be from his head pushing on the pelvic bones. I've heard that sometime babies get superactive when the time comes or they do the total opposite and get really sleepy and settled and move very little. However as long as he is moving and you feel well then don't worry.

It can take ages for labour to start sometimes and the membrane sweep guarantees nothing. The doctor can give you an educated guess that you will go into labour, but then everyone usually does at some point. Its just a matter of when, lol. That is something that they can't really predict. Its up to the baby to secret the 'get me out' hormones in order for you to go into labour.

Sex mght help but you need to lay with a big pillow under your butt for a while afterward (or all night) to encourage the semen to soften your cervix even further, but since you are 100% effaced already this might not work either.

Sorry, but I think its a case of the waiting game! Try getting all those last minute things done for christmas and baby and rest a lot. Take periodic short walks to encourage labour!

best of luck and fingers crossed it happens pretty soon for you. What a lovely christmas present hey!

if you have lost your plug and your 2 cm dialated then it shouldnt be too long before you should go into labour, but saying that i lost my plug with my second child [i have 3 and 1 on way] 2 weeks before my due date and i ended up being induced with her 10 days aftyer my due date so everyone is different , lets just thats not the case with you and the baby makes an appearance,, soon good luck

usually when you lose your mucus plug you can expect labor to begin within 72 hours!! babies move around right up to the very end!! sounds like you are getting ready to begin labor and get your little precious baby into the world!! if you feel to umcomfortable though call your dr and they can tell you what you need to do!!! the very best to you!!!

sometimes it takes a few days...but it will help you dilate. those sharp pains i'm told are dilation pains.
