wearing a condom and endind up pregnant
pulling out and ending up pregnant
On the pill and ending up pregnant
tied tubes and you know the rest
things like that but I wonder if the point your making is that if one voluntarily has sex and ends up pregnant then how can one say it was an accident. Willfully doing an act and knowing the possible outcomes. Some people truly believe that all things mentioned above, if done correctly, will prevent the pitter patter of little feet andf when they don't it's an "accident"

I believe the term is used for a very unplanned pregnancy. Like when you are in your 40's and really not expecting it. When you are young, you think about protection more, as you get older you forget a lot. A friend of mine got pregnant unexpectedly, she was on the pill but she was on antibiotics, which in some cases make the pill ineffective. Hence, "an accident". In my case, I would miscarry very early on, so I was never that concerned, so when I got pregnant when my second was 9 months old, I said, well, I lost so many, I didn't really think about it until I passed th 6 week mark, then I was like OMG.

Really, there is no accidents if contraception is used properly. That is, the pill and condoms are 99% "accurate" in the prevention of conception. Accidentally getting pregnant can only occur if the condom broke or they were too slack with using contraception (IF they used it in the first place). Otherwise, there is NO such thing as an accidental pregnancy :)

It's a stupid expression, kind of sounds like he fell over and accidentally impregnated her! Mostly what people mean is that they didn't use, or incorrectly used, contraception. The pill and condoms are both about 99% effective, but neither work if not used properly!

it means that the condom broke or the pills/patch/diaphragm didnt work for u. and just because it says that the pill or condom is 99% safe doesnt mean that it is always gonna work. some people do still get pregnant while on birth control. have a sister who got pregnant twice while on depo shot. and have a niece who is pregnant now while on the pill.

my pregnancies were both 'accidents' but i prefer to call em nice suprises but yes it was because of no use of contraception... but my friend and my sister both fell pregnant whilst they were on the pill, if the pill is 99% i thought it was less than that but it still means 1 person out of 100 can get pregnant

ok so every one is giving you technicalities I will give you a story,
I was on the pill for 3 years when I got sick I could not keep anything down for about a week birth control included, I was told by my dr and by my mother (God Bless them both) that being on the birth control as long as I had that it would be built up in my system and keep me safe until I could keep the birth control down, WRONG one week of being sick and I was pregnant.
Thats an accident her name is Autumn and she is 4 years old.
lol and she's the best accident thats ever come into my life.

It means they weren't planning on it!
Also the pill is different for every woman as each of us have a different body, you can get pregnant on the pill....condoms break sometimes even if you use them correctly....please dont be so quick to judge!

The term (accident) is another way of call an unplanned baby .They either didn't (use potection) ,didn't (think) about the mistake they were making or the (woman as become a victom) and the Man that rapped her didn't give her any choice
