My guitar is a Gibson ES-333 and my amp is a Behringer V-Amp. On a clean channel it has a very bluesy, warm tone but if I switch to fuzz, phase and/or reverb I can approximate Jimi's strat playing the Star Spangled Banner.
I would highly recommend both amp and guitar, although Gibson discontinued the 333 about 4 years ago.

I use a Westone Electric and an Epiphone Acoustic... Jus' use my lil 12" Peavey amp, and a Line 6 POD for effects... That POD is outstanding, gives ya' so many different sounds/mixtures. I don't really know what to call my sound, I'd say like an ambient "emo" if I had to label it I guess.

if you are looking for a big amp DO NOT BY A CRATE! crates suck unless you get an expensive one. the best amps are line 6. i have a line 6 half stack (150 watts). it over powers the drums. it has a nice sound to it without any pedals. but get a spiderII they are amazing! plus a good guitar is a schecter. all shecters are good.

Jimmie Vaughan Strat, a Blues Jr. and a Bad Monkey pedal.
I don't gig-just jams with friends and the rig works nicely for what I do...
