The doctor who delivered my second and third child stuttered like crazy during office visits. But when he got in the delivery room, he spoke just as normal as anyone else. I think stutter has a lot to do with nervousness about stuttering. So I would think the proper thing to do when someone stutters is just to act like nothing out of the norm is happening and then they will feel more at ease with you and thus stutter less. I don't think it is appropriate to finish anyone's sentences for them, regardless if they stutter or not. This would be annoying, don't you think?

Is it a bad stutter?? I used to know a guy who stuttered. Sometimes we would finish his sentence if we knew what he was going to say. Other times we would just wait for him to finish, but if it were me, I would be embarrassed.

i had a friend who stuttered very badly, but we never finished his sentences for him, it was hard enough for him to get the nerve to talk and we would never embarrass him further by finishing his thoughts that to me is just rude, you need to have patience and realize it could have happened to anyone. all people derserve to have dignity given to them.

My brother does and my mom always taught me to not finish his sentences. Its rude and it makes them feel more different than they already are. Just let him get it out on his own even though you know what he's about to say just keep it to yourself and let them accomplish the goal of completing the sentence. =] x

Theres this guy at school that is as geeky as you can get (carries game manuals and a laptop everytime i see him, is on it constantly.)
Whenever he talks, its actually hard to understand him because he stutters, then quickly goes to another topic lol.

NO, unless the house is on fire.
It is very rude to do this - be patient and wait for him/her to finish.
To all the lols-
It is not funny to laugh at people's problems - you wouldn't like it if they did it to you. Grow up.
