Coz Amitabh is an entertainer and considered first family of Indian film industry. that's why this question is in polls which is a sub category of E&M. When Amitabh's father died in 2003 all the news channels were flooded with live coverage of the cremation ceremony to the point of insanity.

malaysian prime minister abdullah badawi came to india once for a summit and i searched the entire paper for info till i found a small article on page 6.
however when brad pitt and jennifer aniston broke up it was on the front page.

With due condolences to the departed soul of Mrs. Teji Bachchan, this news will remain in air for sometime may be till her cremation. Reason is not that she was mother of Amitabh Bachchan, who is a pubic figure being an entertainer,film star, but because he is a major shareholder in the news channels which are airing this news continuously.
