can anyone help with a good book costume idea? (uk)?

i have no budget, so something from my wardrobe - which contains basically no dresses! can anyone think of a really cool character who wears jeans?! or someone alternative would be awesome, i'm having a mental block!

How about Tally from the Uglies trilogy? You could have a pendant on your neck (just a plain necklace) and tyou could scruff up all your clothes and put some soot on your face!
