can anyone help with a good book costume idea? (uk)?

i have no budget, so something from my wardrobe - which contains basically no dresses! can anyone think of a really cool character who wears jeans?! or someone alternative would be awesome, i'm having a mental block!

a cowgirl?? go to the $2 shop get a hat and then just an old shirt tie it up? dunno if u have boots.
