Make some hand warmers.
Cut some squares of fabric small enough to go into your pockets. (About 5" squares) Sew a seam around the squares leaving just enough room to turn it outside right (leaving the seams inside the square). Pour some rice inside. Close the hole and they are done. Pop the hand warmers in the oven for 1 minute and they are ready to use.
If you don't have a sewing machine, you can sew it by hand, or you can use iron-on fusible tape such as this: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog_old.jsp?CATID=24992&PRODID=130783&source=search
Look for fat quarters at a fabric store. They are precut fabrics used by quilters and they are a nice size to make a few pocket warmers and you can choose from a variety of fabrics.
You can also make a larger square for a heating pad. After you microwave it, put it in your cold bed to warm it up, or use it on your feet if they get cold while watching tv. I use one when I get tension headaches and it helps relieve the pain.
You can also use them for a cold pack if you leave them in your freezer.
PS: Great site Pat! Thumbs up!

Another thing you can try also is find a poem or maybe a website that tells what all happened on a certain day (like your parent's birthday, etc.) in history then take the info and make it into a nice format on your computer then print out on a fancy piece of paper and frame it. This could be interesting.

Go to the site I'm giving you. They have all kinds of gifts you can make multiples of and put in a decorative jar. They have everything from spa ideas to homemade soup mixes in a jar.

You could write each person a letter. I am guessing you're not an adult? In my family, kids are not expected to stress over gifts.

Baking, Pillows. Pillows with boards that can be used as writing tables or TV trays while sitting on the couch or comfy chairs. Spice mixtures. Potpourri's. Decorative jars. bottles, and boxes, or containers. Organizers.
All these items can be made from reclaimed materials.
The thought counts, the effort is appreciated.

hmmmmm...get some really cheap plain candles and hit up a thrift shop or dollar store for beads(on a necklace or not). Pin the beads into the candle for a cute design!!!

I made padded hangers, mini wreath ornaments and cookies for my family this year.
Here is the link for the hangers. I did mine with fabric, not ribbon. It's so easy and they look good. That site has a lot of other good ideas too.

Make soap for them. Buy a mold, some fragnance, a coloring, and glycerin soap and you can make a LOT of soap! Give them handmade cards.

Depends on your talents, but this has been very successful for me:
Cookies in a jar:

It's really the thought that counts.
