Sun Tzu said that every battle is won or lost before it is ever fought. If you can recognize this point in life, it will keep you from fighting the battles in the first place when you know you won't win. Surrendering early and on your own terms actually brings you out far ahead compared to surrendering after a pointless war and being subject to someone else's terms.

Well, in a video game the person who surrenders sorta wins, since whoever is surrendered To, loses their sense of satisfaction from annihilating the other person,
in real life, whoever is surrendered to is the winner...

In a way, we both do. He wins because he stood firm on his position and I gave way. I win because I let the challenge go, and I'm no longer owned by it. And, then again, I could be the only winner if the alleged "winner" is so possessed by his victory that he can't let the issue go and continue on with life. God Bless you.
