Are there any JW's that are experiencing this that could answer as well?

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians; they teach that Christ was and is Divine and of the same nature as God.

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. They do NOT celebrate so-called "Christmas" because "Christmas" does NOT celebrate Christ; "Christmas" celebrates the pagan Saturnalia. Jesus was not even born in December. Nearly all so-called Christmas customs dishonor Christ.

(Jeremiah 10:2-5) This is what Jehovah has said: "Do not learn the way of the nations at all... 3 For the customs of the peoples are just an exhalation, because it is a mere tree out of the forest that one has cut down, the work of the hands of the craftsman with the billhook. 4 With silver and with gold one makes it pretty. With nails and with hammers they fasten them down, that none may reel. ...the doing of any good is not with them."

By contrast, it's tragic that the one holiday Christ actually *DID* ask Christians to commemorate is entirely ignored by almost all of Christendom. It is, of course, the Memorial of Christ's death, sometimes called "the Last Supper" or "the Lord's Evening Meal".

(1 Corinthians 11:23-25, NWT) The Lord Jesus in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf... Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 25 He did likewise respecting the cup.. Keep doing this... in remembrance of me.”

(1 Cor 11:24, 25, NEB) "Do this as a memorial of me.”

Christ Jesus himself personally celebrated and explained the significance of that Last Supper to his followers (see Matthew 26:26-29). Christians who commemorate the Last Supper have done so on the same Jewish calendar date as Jesus did, Nisan 14, which generally falls between late March and mid-April. Interestingly, Christians in the centuries immediately after Christ's impalement were sometimes called "Quartodecimans" which literally mean "Fourteen-ers", because the early Christians were well-known for this true holy day.

How would Jesus feel to learn that the holiday he commanded was widely ignored, while his so-called followers chose to celebrate a pagan false god and their own traditions of men? We don't need to wonder.

(Matthew 15:6-9) You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”

There are a lot of people who do not celebrate Christmas, and even some Christians are beginning to question how (and when) it should be celebrated. Christmas as we know it has its origins in pagan beliefs and celebrations. The Old Testament of the bible forbids worshipping in the manner of the pagans. Getting back to the issue at hand, as the other person mentioned, if you can your partner can "live and let live" and at least respect each other's rights to believe as you choose, that is key. A lot depends on how far you want to take it (sharing in each other's beliefs) and how serious your relationship is. If you want him to attend your religious service with you, then you need to attend his religious service with him. If you're at the point of discussing kids and how they will be taught, you may wish to seek some professional guidance/counseling on how to approach that topic. Good luck!

My mum is a Jehovas Witness,so we've never celebrated Christmas in our household.
I'm not one,but having been brought up in a household that doesn't celebrate it,it's kind of a learning curve when i date someone and i'm with them at Christmas time.
I don't really understand all the fuss they make! I buy them gifts and such, but i still feel awkward because it's kinda "new" to me.
My mum gets me gifts, but she calls it "Pressent day" instead of Christmas hehe.

For the situation you're talking about - just do what you do and respect the other persons belief.
Just get them a gift, like my mum does with me,but not wrap it in Christmas wrapping, just use a plain or inoffensive wrapping,to show you care :o)

** Edit **

To the post above me ; Jehovas Witnesses don't celebrate Christmas because they believe Jesus wasn't born on the 25th December. the 25th Dec was the day all the little boys were slaughtered. If that is true, then on Dec 25th,you're really celebrating the death of all those babies, not the birth of Jesus Christ.

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I know quite a few people who celebrate it, along with other things. I generally make it clear how I feel, then leave it there. If they want to talk about it, great, if not ok. I won't go against my beliefs for them, just like I don't ask them to for me.

I can't get it why a Johovah's witness will not celebrate Xmas. I am a muslim and I do celebrate it. Two reasons: 1. Its Jesus's birthday, even if it may not be his true birthday but this is the best we can come up with and since I respect Jesus a lot as God;s prophet and messenger and his fight for rightousness.
Second, I can see my kids happy when they get gifts.
And the Xmas tree brings fresh forst smell to livinngroom
