My budget is Rs. 1Lakh ($2000).The Desktop will be an assembled one and will be used for running heavy softwares like MAYA and the Laptop will be used for the presentation of my work. Sometimes, the laptop would be used for running my animation softwares. Please suggest a perfect configuration for my desktop. 4 GB RAM is my basic requirement. Suggest a basic laptop having a GPU. I will be thankful to you.

Explain requirements you have and know of, such as RAM.
Explain software you will be running
Ask for a PC within your price constraints that meets your needs.
Let the salespeople WORK for their money !!!

Find someone, maybe ask around all of your friends, and there friends... BUILD THE COMPUTERS YOURSELF FOR A 67% SAVINGS versus buying a dell, which sucks anyway.
Your field of study - You should get an I MAC because of their superior graphics qualities for any Arts related work.
TRY TO GET SOMEONE TO BUILD IT FOR YOU. You will save so much money and get 2 X better or upgraded parts. Please do not purchase from Dell.

You would be looking at an iMac desktop. They take up to 4GB of RAM with Final Cut Studio2
