You mean a 1942 Lincoln cent with the wheat ear reverse. With a mintage of 657,796,000 it is not very scarce. It sells for 2 to 5 cents in a dealers wheat cent box. Even in mint state it is only worth a few dollars. here we have a coin with more of a historic value then a monetary one. 1942 was not a good year for America, for on 12/07/41 the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and we went to war. We had stayed out of it some what until then. 1942 saw a lot of loved ones head to war and they may have had a 1942 cent in their pocket. I of course was not alive then, but being a numismatist, history is part of coin collecting as well as research. I would keep it for as time goes by the value has to go up.

1/100 of a dollar. youll get more money by deceiving a guy into believing it is rare than you will by selling it to a dealer.
