It sounds like you have your num lock key on. Just turn it off. More than likely you can see the number printing on those keys real small. letter "O" is 6 with Num lock.

that used to be the old commodore no. for operating! It sometimes pops up on my keyboard if I hold the keys down too long!
6 on my keyboard usually tends to make the letters go like ttttttttttttttttttttttttt or in wing dings > {} () [] I hate it when that happens! my keyboard is a Packard Bell!
Yes 6 pops up on the monitor then it is in white correct? Back space and press alt key simultaneously to get rid of it!

likely a sparkling mouse. My pc became like in uncomplicated words 10 months previous and my pc of crap mouse performed that, then stopped all together...they suggested to convey it in and they could replace it, yet I were given mad and slammed it up antagonistic to the wall, so I basically went to Wal Mart and baught a sparkling Logitech !!

ahahahhahahahha, you silly person. Hold the Fn key and hit the num LK key, at least thats whats on mine. You might need to reinstall your keyboard drivers off of the site if you got rid of the program controlling them.

it could be a vires. i led my laptop to my younger sister the other day, not knowing that she likes to down games and stuff. and ways with the spaces key coming out with a t and the t key being the backspaces you might want the scan your computer

try holding down shift+numlock. this happens sometimes when laptops come out of hibernation or sleep. it's annoying. messes with your ability to type passwords.

try another keyboard, they're only cheap
i had the same problem, but something spilled in mine.
