20's and early 30's is usually the best time for a woman to have a child. They are able to get their figure back quickly and have more energy to deal with all the things that having a baby entails. Realistically, mid 30's and on it is harder to get pregnant...

Everyone is different. I was 39 when my daughter was born. I had an easy pregnancy, a scheduled c-section (necessary due to a previous surgery), a quick recovery, and a very healthy baby. On the other hand, I've known women in their 20's who had a rough time with pregnancy and/or birth. I'd have to say the best time is when you are in good health, good physical condition, and ready for a child, no matter what your age.

Women are said to be in their prime child bearing years when they are in the range of 20 to 24 years old. This is because their bodies have reached maturity and are no longer growing. At that age their ovaries are still young.

As far as physical condition goes, that depends on how you take care of yourself. There are plenty of women who are 39 years old who are in much better physical condition than many 20 year old women. But the problem is that they have 39 year old ovaries and will have a much lower chance of becoming pregnant.

Unfortunately, when women are in their early twenties, they often lack the maturity and financial stability that someone in their thirties might have. And it is equally as unfortunate that women who have reached that comfortable stage in their life are having a difficult time getting pregnant because they have waited too long.

My advice would be to wait until the mid to later 20's but don't wait until the later 30's if you'd like to increase your chances of having a child.

Doctors will tell you anytime up to about 27 and then every woman starts ovulating a little bit less as they age. Obviously we were designed to have children earlier in life rather than later, otherwise it would be the other way around. I had my first at 21 and my friends all waited till their 30's. They all tell me it's harder because they were so used to living a certain way for so long, it was harder to welcome in such a huge change in their life later. I am so glad I am a young mom. I am 28 and I have five. I don't regret it. :)
