I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything...but it's just insane to think that one day existence will be over. I mean what the f*ck does that mean, seriously? We all just kind of cast this reality aside cause of a its 'scary' to think about or 'it's not going to happen to me for a long time so im not gonna think about it" mentality
I think if people REALLY understood this things would be a lot different...right??
Why do we understand we're going to die? That's a crazy "evolutionary" trait of humanity...do other animals know they're going to die? Dunno...been thinkin about it lately...

See we all have this idea that RIGHT at the instant of death there's gonna be a bright light or a darkness but that implies we still have senses but we wont cause were dead..so not even the concept of "nothing" would fit

Also does anyone know where the phrase "right before you die your life flashes before your eyes" comes from?? It seems we've kind of accepted this as a norm (in movies books ect) but where did it come from...I can't find anything on it and you KNOW there's got to be a good story behind it!!

Physical reality is dependent upon conscious observation for physical reality is non-existent prior to the moment of observation, as everything is only a state of probable outcomes until the moment of observation. But as many seem to ignore this FACT of reality they tend to think that all consciousness ends when their physical form ceases to function. It is not logical to conclude that consciousness is the product of physical reality because that physical reality can not exist without it.
You speak only of the physical process of biological function and ignore the importance of consciousness.
There is more to you than the physical and science has shown this to be true so now you should come to terms with what that may mean in the scheme of things.
This is why philosophy is now more important than ever, have a great day and a wonderful life.

yeah, i do realize that one day i'll die. But existence would never be over as God said that he'll be coming to judge the people of this earht and that those whose names have been written in his holly book will live in a new world. i think you're right: if people did really understand that they are gonna die some day and have to make the best of life while they still can, the world would truly be a better place for us..animals can't really know that they are gonna die some day coz they were only given instincts whereas humans where given brains in order to know whats right and whats wrong!

We begin to die at birth. From birth to death a lot of interesting stuff happens though.
We have self awareness; that brings us to the realization that we will someday die; but it need not be "scary".
"Something else is beyond this existence." Discovering the truth of that statement should be most interesting (but "finding out" can wait) .
Perhaps other species do realize they will some day die. Who knows ... they too are self aware; but to what extent?
Keep on keeping on, dude; maybe your answers will be as good or even better than those that have come before.

I think people don't think about it because there's nothing you can say about it, it's not something you can understand just by thinking it through or even talking about it. it's so divorced from anything we know about in daily life that it's easier just to avoid it than face the true reality of this crushing inevitability. you can't run, you can't hide, you're going to die by sheer virtue of the fact that you were born, and there's not a god damn thing anyone can say or do to change that.
and unless someone comes up with a way, it'll continue to be ignored. humans veer towards the easy path, right? same pattern here. we're just going with what we know. and our own death is not something we can personally relate to.

It's kind of weird to think about... when you die, is it like a light switch being flicked off? Do you slowly pass into darkness? Or is it light? Does your entire mind shut down slowly or quickly?
Speaking of your mind, where in the world does your mind go? Scientifically speaking, of course. I'm not going to delve into religion.
I know it's coming for me, but heck, I'll worry about that when that comes. It's the mentality you put up there, but that's just how I roll with things. Go with it when it comes.
I think that humans sometimes think they're immortal. I feel immortal myself. (Strange thing for a hypochondriac, isn't it?) I know I'm not. It's just a weird thing to think about, dying... but there's only one thing that every creature on this earth does after they are born, and that's die.
Truly strange thing to think about.
Edit: Aww, Trina, that's so beautiful.

jointly as I admire all of us who would % to handbook a guy or woman to God, I disagree inclusive of your fanaticism. Being Catholic, i know that there are lots of people who have not got self assurance in God. jointly as I do experience obligated to teach them onto the BIble and willingly reason them to God in the event that they %, God on no account needed us to tension human beings right into a relationship with Him. The Bible does pontificate that we've unfastened will. besides to this, the Bible preaches that we are assume to be respectful of each and every physique, no count number if or no longer they have self assurance what we do. as an occasion, take the Jewish faith. The Bible does no longer say we would desire to continuously hate Jewish human beings through fact they don't seem to be Christians. as a replace, Jesus pronounced to abide by ability of the regulations of the Jewish faith and the cope with others the way we would desire to be taken care of. regrettably, many Christians interpret this to indicate that we would desire to continuously supply up at no longer something and tension human beings to have self assurance what we do. i myself desire you open up the Bible and enable the Holy Spirit devour your heart. you will discover which you're quite misinformed and that your fanaticism is lost.

The truth is that nobody can be certain about it because future is uncertain.... who can even guarantee that the sun would rise tomorrow? Who knows, we may find a way to become immortal in the coming years... can anyone rule out that possibility? It is this uncertainty that gives birth to all the hopes that keep life going..... I really can't predict with absolute certainty that one day I myself or anyone else for that matter would have to die!!!

Yeah I know I'm going to die one day but I'm prepared for that. It's the big sleep so to speak. I will wake up and there will by my Lord the Christ Jesus and after that it's eternity with God.
Death doesn't bother me at all.

yes, and i think most people realize that they will die and that life is without purpose. unfortunately or ironically that seems to make people melancholy and they choose to lead self-destructive lives
the fact that death is is something that we all face should inspire us to live.
