What would the quantum numbers for the d electrons in Tc and Tc+7 be? Also. How many unpaired electrons in the atom. In the ion? How many p electrons in the atom? In the ion? Help please. D=

the electronic shell of Tc is

1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2 3d10 4p6 5s2 4d5

In Tc for d electrons you have 10 electrons 3d10 and 5 electrons 4d5 . quantum numbers are n=3 and n=4 (with l=2)
In Tc7+ the electrons 4d5 would be removed (also 5s2) so you have only n=3 and l=2
In the atom there are at least 1 electron unpaired but it ispossible that the 5 electrons 4d5 are unpaired (so not sure for this question)
For the ion Tc7+, no electron unpaired
There are 18 electrons p 2p6, 3p6, 4p6 for both
