Hi, I had Super Paper Mario for Wii and I really disliked that game. I had no fun whatsoever and the times I did play it was as if I was forcing myself just so the game wouldn't go to waste or whatever. I finally sold it on eBay and was wondering if I would like Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door or Paper Mario on VC? Is it the same type of gameplay or will I actually have fun with the other games?

The other two games are turn-based RPGs, and I think the story is a LOT better. I actually cared about most of the characters in Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, and that's what drove me to keep playing the game.

It really depends on what type of games YOU like to play.

I've personally never been a big Mario fan, I just don't enjoy playing "platformer" type game. A "platformer" got it's original name because the games consisted basically of jumping from platform to platform. In platformer games today you either run, jump, swim or fly through various obstacle courses until you reach the end.

The graphics of the games you download from the virtual console leave something to be desired compared to the graphics of the newer games designed for the Wii, but "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door" was one of the best designed gamecube games and is more of a RPG (role playing genre) than a platformer.

It's still a Mario brother's game and the games you download from the virtual console don't make use of the motion sensing Wiimote controls, although you can use the Wiimote to play SOME of the VC games by turning it on it's side and using it as a "classic controller", but for many VC games, you need to either use a gamecube controller or buy the "classic controller" designed for the Wii which you plug into your Wiimote--just like you plug in the nunchuk.

In making a decision, it may help to read a review -- here's a link to one on Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/rpg/papermario2/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;review

the first 2 games are nothing like the Paper Mario on wii, they are turn based RPGs and are quiete good, but i personally liked Wii's Paper Mario, i thought the whole "turn everything around" idea was great and fun, oh well, hope you find a game you like, i'd advise The Thousand Year Door!

It depends-
The first 2 games are much more RPG-like.
So if you hated the platforming, try the first 2. But if it was the RPG elements that shoved you over the edge, avoid them like the plauge.

Go to youtube.com and search for the games. See if the video interest you and then go ebay to buy the game.
