you wanna hear something that i find kinda funny? a few days ago i read a posting on here ripping Roger Clemens to bits. Then i hear about Schilling (of all people) bashing Roger and saying he should have to give up his Cy Youngs. what i find particularly odd is that When Roger was supposedly taking these steroids he was also a member of the Red Sox. So is Schilling actually bashing the Sox organization for Roger supposedly doing this? Schilling is a bad person to talk about ethics.. Painting his sock red during the world series to gain sympathy, and if he was hurt , how did he return to pitch a great game later in that series? sounds like he was shot up with something. Just thought it was funny a Sox fan bashing Roger when he could have taken the steroids when he was there.

They were banned. Any substance that was illegal in the United States is a banned substance by MLB. As for why it matters part of the problem is that he has been touted as succeding cleanly while may have been dirty. As well as it does demonstrate a point as to the way that Clemens was treated as opposed to Barry Bonds. It is not that he should be singled out for steroid use any more than any other player. However, he also should not be praised with doubt about how he achived his results.

clemens has used steroids to extend his career, and it seems from the mitchell thing that clemens was taking about the same time, but for longer, than bonds
and if you really want to ask so what, ill tell you
clemens has tried to play himslef off as a hard worker, someone for kids to look up to, he has bragged and he has lorded it over his opponents, and "lesser" (read less juiced)
pitchers
the so what is..... hes a fraud, and, just like bonds, for completely stupid reasons, the number one reason that i think neither bonds nor clemens deserve to be in the hall, is that they took steroids to try to imporve on careers that were already hall worthy, they didnt need to take them, and they just got overy greedy, so they deserve all the worst they can get and i hope they both end up rotting in jail cells, itd be really great with clemens, cause i hear texas prisons are pretty bad
Mr. McNamee poked rogers but with a needle, but Bubba from cell block d will be poking his but with something else ha ha ha

They have been illegal in the US since 1991, and to that "dave51_1998" idiot: before you start telling people how "funny" it is to you then you should proabaly have a clue what you're talking about. Roger Clemens was on the BLUE JAYS in 1997 when he allegedly began using the steroids, according to the MITCHELL REPORT...a year AFTER he was let go by the RED SOX.

Steroids were illegal when Clemens took them; they just weren't against MLB's policy. But Clemens didn't begin taking them until his time in Toronto. It's actually kind of funny-the year he started taking them he had near a .500 record during the first half of the season, but a couple weeks after he started using, he went something like 11-0 the rest of they way.

The MLB and Players Union drug testing program was implemented in 2002 and HGH was added as a banned substance in 2005. Most of what Mitchell came up with for everyone on his list occurred before the implementation of the testing program, and this would apply to Bonds as well. Fans will be shocked when they see that little to no action will be taken against any of these players.

Uh, yes they were. Non-prescription anabolic steroids have been illegal in the United States since the late 1980s.

They may not have been banned by baseball, but they were certainly illegal according to federal law. Get your facts straight.
Oh, and I love the Schilling painted his sock red bs. You probably believe 9/11 was in inside job and the moon landings were faked. It scares me how people can be so ignorant.
