So much of what women do is done behind closed doors...
And so much of what women do is over looked because when it is done everything is right and just the same as it was the day before. "Women's work" is only noticed if it isn't done.

After the industrial revolution any job that wasn't paid work was no longer considered "work". Thus, it was considered invisible. This includes all household duties as well--domestic duties such as caring for children, cooking, cleaning, etc. is invisible as it is unpaid and entirely within the domestic sphere.

It's the mind set. We have taken so many centuries to get out of a male-dominated society. It will take some time to get to a place where we get credited for what we did.
It's surprising, isn't it, that only the women at the top get visibility. While all women... your sisters, mothers, wives, daughters are working out there to make a better world.
I am very sure we are going towards a world where they will get their says too.

It is often unappreciated and taken for granted. How many men are willing to line up to do work they feel is degrading, pays less, and doesn't usually lead to better opportunities? Not many. That why this sort of work is considered invisible.

Women make up the majority in professions such as clerical work, food services, cleaning services, and non-commission sales. These are not the kinds of jobs people usually aspire to.

Geezo, show me any womens' labour that doesn't reappear as soon as it's done: Laundry, dishes, cleaning, shopping, transporting to & from school, activities, mending,WASHING the FLOOR. . .
It is invisible because it never ends. Unless, Mom's got the nerve to let it get to intolerable, deals with it & the family goes, "Wow, Mom!!It smells/looks so nice!"

Where is the glory for what most men do? Why must women be thanked and recognized for every little thing.
I mean come on this is beyond ridiculous.
Just one more thing for women to claim victim hood about.
"Man is the actor and woman is the director" come on do women really need to take credit for everything.
Are women really this vacuous?
