some are proably used for funeral wreath and floral arrangements, but I guess most end up as wood chips or pulp.

It depends on the community but most are just thrown away. In my town both the unsold and the collected used trees are wood chipped into mulch which, I believe, they use in city landscaping.

They are made into wood chips and sold to places that make the chips into various wood products.

i had a job a few years ago, selling christmas trees, and my boss told me that the leftover trees would be sold for greek orthodox christmas, or epiphany, or whatever.....
