The cable guy came to the house and set up the modem and everything. He tried several things. The proxy was good, etc. He says that it looks like a virus. I downloaded the latest avg setup files onto my flash drive and then put them on my mom's computer and set up avg. I did a complete scan...It says that there are no viruses on the computer. It still can't access the Internet. What should I do?

aww do u have a router to send signals between computers.

If so try click start ==> Run
then type cmd into the box
a black screen will appear
type in ipconfig/all
make sure you have values where it says dns
if not try the following
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/release

check that you have an IP address dhcp server and dns if you have none of these values you network interface card maynot be working
