I know just what you mean..I thought I was pregnant 3 times while I breastfed my oldest. Also to let you know even after you stop feeding your period may not come back right away or may even be irregular. If you are on the mini-pill you will be fine, of course I recommend an extra precaution, (pull out method or condoms) My doctor would only allow the mini-pill for 3 months, do not know why, but I do know if you have yet to get a period the breast feeding has everything to do with it. Don't worry about being pregnant if you take precautions you will be ok.

My son is 13 months old, we are still breastfeeding. My period returned at around 11 months, and then disappeared again (not pregnant) because once my son turned 1 year he began nursing like a newborn again. It is very normal, every ones body works differently. It will most likely return as your son slowly decreases how often he nurses.

I was on bc right after I had my daughter 5 years ago. After I had my son, I got my IUD back in. I technically have not had a period in 6 years. So I wouldn't worry! If it would make you feel better, I have heard that doctors can induce a period... then you will be back on a cycle and be less stressed! I would just relax and enjoy not having it!!!! Good luck!

It is very common for breast-feeding mothers NOT to have a period. My ex never had one for 5 years. And as you have noticed, it is not a hard and fast rule. Every pregnancy is different. Best to use a condom and other contraceptive methods to avoid your stress and another pregnancy.
Hope this helps.

It's different for everyone. I didn't get a period until my daughter was 15 months old.

i didn't get my period back till about 11 months when breastfeeding, my friend didn't get hers till about 13 or 14 months. i think if you are on the pill and maybe if you avoid sex when you are ovulating (use an ovulation calendar online) you should be right!

This is very common. However, you cannot take the breastfeedng as the precaution of pregnancy, as it can only reduce 50% risk of getting pregnant, and it is caused by the pregnancy hormone changes.

Thats how I was. When I stopped nursing my daughter at 12 months, it took me about 6 months before I became regular again.
