What if you kept getting put into that direction because it's your true purpose in life? People keep looking at you like your selfish and unthoughtful because others depend on you... even though it is totally clear to you what you must do.

Perhaps you should read The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. It should help you figure it out.

The answer to this depends on so much.

If I found out my true purpose in life .. yes, I would like to pursue it. However - it would have to be right.

If people depend on you .. I don't know what age, or who, or to what degree .. but there are some people who depend on other people who they can't just leave hanging in life .. without support, etc.

Also - why would people look at you like you are selfish & unthoughtful .. just because your want to fulfill your purpose ? There has to be a reason why they would do this.

I would pursue what I could .. what was right .. without dumping on anyone else .. and without deeply hurting anyone.

I've long known my purpose to be on this earth- to save as many cats and dogs as possible and to better their cause in any way I can- donations, educating the public, etc. This comes first before everything in my life. Those that are around me must realize and respect that as it is my, IMO, best quality and it's WHO I AM. It (being an advocate for animals) is the only 100% good thing about me. If they can't respect my feelings towards animals, then they don't respect ME. There's even times when my husband struggles with it because of the financial impact it has. I've often said if I won the lottery it is the cats and dogs that would benefit. I would love to open a no kill, lifelong animal shelter, support spay neuter programs on a MUCH larger scale than I can afford to now, etc.

SO, if you think you have found your true purpose in life, and it sounds like you have, you have to be true to YOURSELF first. Those that can't admire you, or at least respect you for it, you will come to resent. If they care for or love you, they will see it (this true purpose in life) isn't an option for you, it makes up your very being. Without pursing your purpose to whatever degree you can, you will be miserable. They shouldn't want that for you either.

So few people have discovered their purpose or what is deeply meaningful to them, you should be proud. To me, there is nothing like rescuing a dog or cat and finding it a good, loving home. It gives me a sense of peace I can't even describe. In the Spring, I adopted a large abused dog that was dumped on our property. You couldn't even get near him. Now he is healthy, happy, TRUSTING and stands up and gives me hugs and kisses- a true blessing in my life. :) I sponser other cats and dogs as well the ones I have. Now, if I could just win the lotto, I'd be able to help thousands of them! And NO ONE would stop me!

Go for it. U have no choice. If u feel that sure of urself that this thing is what u were meant to do, then u better do it. It might not ever come around for you again if u dont. I dont know what u mean by selfish&unthoughtful but if what you plan to do is neither illegal or immoral i say you gotta do what u gotta do...
good luck!

Do you think you have a purpose for which you were brought into existence? Or are you just talking about what makes you happy?

If you are talking about real purpose, that question requires God.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell

Russell was a noted 20th century mathematician, philosopher and Nobel laureate. He was also an atheist but he was honest enough to know that without God we have no purpose here on earth and without purpose, life has no real meaning.

But our human nature demands that our lives have meaning so we invent something to do and then pretend that our invention is important enough to live for. It is the psychological technique of inventing reasons to live for no other reason than to keep living.

If we reject God, we reject everything. But if we accept that God might exist, then we can see that He must have put our intense need for purpose into our human nature to point us to seek Him. So seeking God is our purpose.

What else would you do with your life if not what you want to do? If your dreams are going to bugger up the lives of your dependents, you need to find some sort of compromise. If you have 4 kids and dream of becoming an artist, giving up your day job is not an option. You could, however, study art one night a week, as long as you do your share of housework and childcare on the other nights.

I accept as true with what you assert and that i will take it some steps added. the finished subject matter of the Bible has to do with God's Kingdom (government) being the respond for mankind's issues. It grow to be set up contained in the beginning up whilst Adam and Eve intentionally grew to become their decrease back on God. considering that that factor, the way issues are actually has been allowed for a "reason". all human beings is proving who they are, one way or yet another. You do it. You are not here to live your life for other people. The funny thing is, when you begin to follow that purpose... when it's really really right, everything else falls into place. Including "other people" in your life. Practice faith. Faith is believing in what we can't see. It's stepping into the unknown, and trusting that we will be taken care of. Follow the pull... it's there for a reason.

It would depend on my situation - my kids still need me around right now - not sure about the husband! I would have liked to have found my life purpose before I was married. I do believe we all have one.

Absolutely. I do pursue my purpose. I have a husband who supports my dreams and aspirations as I do his. We have children that understand that we will fully support them and they support us in return. Don't worry about "people" unless pleasing everyone is your purpose in life. If that's the case.....you might want to look again....

Good luck :)
