I was hoping to be pregnant. My partner & I had unprotected intercouse 4 days before ovulation and the night of ovulation. I just got off the iud a month ago (the non-hormonal one). I was hoping for a pretty good chance of pregnancy.

At about 12-14 days past ovulation a home pregnancy test is pretty accurate. You didn't say how many days past ovulation you are so assumming you have a textbook cycle, you would be about 11 days past ovulation. At 11dpo it is still very very possible to see a neg but still be pregnant. So, hold out hope, it ain't over til AF shows! Good luck and baby dust!!

Well you did the baby dancing at the right time for a good chance at getting pg, 3 days before your period is due though is likely to be too soon for many tests to show an accurate result, usually it is only very sensitive brands like first response that can tell this early.
Your best bet will be to test again on the day your period is due, not long to wait now, if you are pg the level of hcg in your system will be so much higher and is more likely to be picked up on the test. It is quite common to get false negatives, i had a false negative on one day with this pregnancy and got a positive the very next day, so it's highly possible to get a wrong result in the beginning. It's very early hun!! Wait an other week or so. Then the test will be accurate!! Don't get disappointed if you're not though. Try to relax. I REALLY hope you are. Merry Christmas!!

If your answer is positive then yes, if it is negative you can do it again after 10 days of you expected period day. Sometimes early pregnancy is not shown till it is 2 week.

did you only take one hpt???
well take more than one test
and wait a couple more days then take another one to be sure
.....i took several that said neg ...but the blood test said positive.

give it a few days and check again..... its very easy to get a false neg........ i did and i found out a few weeks later i was having twins, lol............ but if it doesnt work out this time theres always the future to look forward to............... good luck with everything
